NOAA Weather Radio Station Locations
I've
been recommending that you use portable weather alert radios* when you're
out on GPS adventures, especially when traveling in areas prone to
flooding. I can't speak for all areas of the country, but the detailed
weather announcements for Greenville, South Carolina will tell you which
side of the road its raining! There is no way to calculate how many
lives have been save by NOAA emergency broadcasts. I have personal
experience with a tornado that came through our neighborhood here in Simpsonville.
If it was not for my trusty weather alert radio, I would have been asleep,
instead of in our 'storm room' when the tornado passed less than a 1000
yards away.
Use this GPS Map to view the locations ( latitude and longitude coordinates ) of weather radio transmitters nearest your travels.
