Parkfield Earthquake

Sightseeing and hiking in Death Valley California NevadaOn Tuesday 28 September 2004, an earthquake finally occurred near Parkfield where scientists had predicted such an event would occur. The epicenter of the magnitude 6.0 event was located in an area that has been monitored by scientists for decades.

There was no significant damage and no casualties reported as a result of this earthquake.
