Midwest Mailbox Pipe Bombs
As of 4 May 2002, fourteen pipe bombs were discovered in rural Illinois,
Iowa, and Nebraska mailboxes - 6 exploded injuring 4 postal workers and
2 residents. The bombs were found in two distinct regions. Eight bombs
were placed within a 45-mile radius of Maquoketa, Iowa. The other 6 bombs
were found in Nebraska. None of the bombs in Nebraska exploded.
