La Plata Tornado

La Plata Force-5 Tornado,
Maryland's Worst
On 28 April 2002 a lethal tornado (or tornados) damaged property in a line between La Plata and St. Leonard, Maryland.  The winds produced by the storm were in the 261-318 mph range - the first F-5 Tornado recorded in Maryland history.

Information about this storm and the resulting damage was collected from several media sources, most notably the Baltimore Sun and SunSpot.net  (www.sunspot.net).
