Ritz Camera's
GPS Hi-Tech Geo-Photo Hunt
Note: This contest concluded in 2004. However the Geo-photo Hunt locations are still of interest to GPS enthusiasts.
GPS Enthusiasts now have yet another means to adventure. Like Geocaching, Ritz Camera's Geo-Photo Hunt contest participants are given the coordinates of the exact locations they are to seek, but instead of looking for a traditional cache, participants take a picture of the subject identified by a unique clue.
As
an example Geo-Photo, at right is my picture taken from Latitude 34 degrees
50.754 minutes North and longitude 82 24.090 West. The clue for the subject
of the photo was, "over the river."
Many of Geo-Photo locations are grouped together. Near where I live there are five locations within walking distance in the historic section of town. Geo-photo hunting made for great afternoon adventure.
