Happy Jacks, Vedauwoo, and the Devil's Playground
Between
Laramie and Cheyenne, you will find a remote rock climbing oasis in the
Pole Mountain Division of the Laramie Ranger District. Locally known as
"Devil's Playground", relentless wind has erroded rock into formations
described as surreal and alien, like giant drip-castles next to huge mushroom
boulders precariously balanced atop football field-sized stone tables. One
striking example is the Vedauwoo (pronounced Veda-voo) Rock shown
here.
