Davos Resort Areas

Alps Vista Jakobshorn Davos SwitzerlandUnlike many western resorts - where resort areas are based at one mountain - skiing in the alps is more spread out.

The up side of skiing the alps is that you can ski from one mountain to the next, have lunch at the base of one, dinner at the base of another, and then take the train back home.

However, in some areas near Davos, the ski lifts are few and far between. Many lifts are merely t-bars. Sometimes, to get to the top of the next hill, you'll need get up speed because there is no lift at all. Large open groomed bowls are not typical terrain. More often you'll travel on trails narrow and crowded, especially during the weekends.

Adventure Travel Tips

If you plan to carry a hydration pack, make sure it is designed for winter use. Otherwise your water supply might freeze. I recommend Camelbak SnoBowl

Also consider an International cell phone you purchase once and then only pay for minutes if and when use use it. Keep the phone, and your international phone number, as long as you want. Have a look here at Mobal.
