The
218 miles of Ouachita Trail from Oklahoma’s Talimena State Park to
Arkansas’ Pinnacle Mountain State Park passes through the Ouachita
National Forest, “the South’s oldest and largest National Forest.”
It's a bit much to do in a day. Numerous road crossing, trail access
points, and a couple of prime campsite locations allow you to break it up.

Section 2: This 28 miles is the longest section of the 192-mle Ouachita Trail, from Winding Stair Campgroud to Queen Wilhelmina Park. The trail passes through forested mountains, sweeping valleys and clear-running streams.
Section 8: This section begins at Arkansas Highway 7 north of Jessieville, climbing upward to Oak Mountain. Passing through the Flatside Wilderness, you will cross several picturesque streams. On over Flatside Pinnacle this section teminates at Silva Lake.
