Points of Intrest in Brussels
As
the seat of the European Union, Belgium unites its neighbors. However, as
a country, Belgium is divided.
Belgium is divided by a linguistic boarder drawn by Caesar which hasn't changed in more than 2,000 years. The boarder lies along a road that still exists between Bavay, France north till Koln, Germany. South of this boarder Belgins speak French. North of the boarder, Flemish. The boarder marks the northern extent of what was the Roman Empire. Along the boarder, old fortifications - limes - exist in ruins dating back to 44 BC.
Many castles from the 6th and 7th centuries also exist here, dating from about the same time that Brussels became established as a city.
Today Brussels is a world-class destination for tourism. Download this GPS Map to several cultural and entertaining points of interest.
