GPS Tour of St. Augustine
Featuring:The Old City.
Begin
your tour in the heart of America's oldest city, parking near the shops
along historic Saint George Street, and walking or riding a bike past establishments
of the original Spanish settlers that date back to the early 1700's. Further
along your trek, keep on eye on your GPS and one eye on the lions protecting
the bridge. Venturing down side streets will bring you to more evidence
of Spanish military presence and subsequent British occupation. Spend some
time in the museums that faithfully preserve artifacts for your perusal
and then return to the green space in the center of the settlement to reflect
upon how world trade impacts civilization.
Click on the binoculars to see a screenshot of Google Earth displaying a birds eye view of points of interest along the tour as seen from high above the Bridge of Lions.
